Portable Crib Sheet Tutorial - Super Easy!

Our portable crib (Pack 'N Play brand) came with a plain brown sheet. I was at the store and saw that I could buy a different color...for $10. I could choose any color, as long as it was pink or green. When I turned the sheet over I thought, "Hmmm....this only has three pieces and six seams...anyone can make this!"

So, I measured the sheet and came up with some instructions. Now I can use any cute fabric for extra sheets. Which fabric do you think will help stimulate your child's intelligence? Sock Monkeys, of course!

Here are the instructions, with pictures to match. I have also included the written instructions all together at the end.

You will need 1 1/2 yards of woven fabric (cotton, poly/cotton, flannel, etc...anything soft)

1. Cut three pieces:
one @ 39” x 34 ½ “ (longer length is cut with the grain, parallel to the selvedge) hereafter called “A”
two@ 20 ½ “ x 4” (Shorter length is cut with the grain, parallel to the selvedge) hereafter called “B”

2. Serge or zig zag stitch both long ends of both “B” pieces. (not pictured)

3. Place piece “A” right side up, oriented with shorter side across the top. With right sides together, pin short edge of one “B” piece to top right edge of “A.”

Pin the other short edge of the same piece to the top left edge of “A.”

You will need to bunch up piece “A” since it is wider than “B.”

4. Repeat with the second “B” piece at the bottom of “A.”

5. Using a 3/8” seam allowance, sew both “B” pieces to “A.”

6. Serge or zig zag stitch over seam allowances from top to bottom, careful to just serge the edge and try not to cut off any fabric.

7. On the ironing board, with right sides together, fold in 4” on each long edge of the sheet. The top and bottom, where “B” is attached, should lay flat.

Press the folded sides where “B” is attached.

8. Pin across the top and bottom.

9. Stitch with a 3/8” seam allowance.

10. Serge or zig zag stitch seams, again being careful not to cut off any of the fabric.

11. Turn right sides out and press.

All Finished. I told you it was easy.

Here are the instructions without photos:

Portable Crib Sheet Pattern
Super easy; great beginner project
This pattern uses only 1 ½ yards of woven fabric (lightweight cottons, poly/cotton or flannel work great) and will fit the “Pack ‘N Play” brand.

3. Place piece “A” right side up, oriented with shorter side across the top. With right sides together, pin short edge of one “B” piece to top right edge of “A.” Pin the other short edge of the same piece to the top left edge of “A.” You will need to bunch up piece “A” since it is wider than “B.”

See? I told you it was easy!!
